The Grids and Clouds research theme addresses issues related to large-scale distributed systems, be they related to resource management or to the way applications can be structured to take advantage of these infrastructures.




Projects

  • P2P-MPI is a past project whose aim is to enable a desktop grid of resources, based on the participation of individual users. It allows to run message-passing programs over a set of computers that are dynamically federated at runtime.
  • The Schlouder project fosters our current efforts towards building a client-side broker of IaaS cloud resources. The broker implements strategies able to adjust the cost and the speed at which a workload is executed by one or several cloud providers. The objective is also to provide a prediction of the execution plan through simulation.
